Hi all! 

As Team Combat Cancer, we, Dia and Pal Gupta, are extremely excited to have been nominated as candidates to lead a team for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). Our mission is to raise money for those who require cancer treatment but cannot afford it. This aligns with our chosen LLS support pillar which is patient support! Worldwide resources and access to care have been less accessible to our family in India due to their cost, restricting our family’s access to proper care in the past. We want to eliminate this barrier for others to help patients receive unrestricted medical care!

We share a personal connection to cancer as our cousin passed away from brain cancer at a very young age. Our grandmother has fought cancer since before we were born and her most recent battle was 2 years ago. Thankfully, she fought it successfully. We have seen our grandmother fight and have felt firsthand how hard it is for family and friends as well. We empathize with those who must watch and sympathize with those who must fight. We are extremely lucky to have access to procedures and treatment; however, these resources are not accessible to many others. We want to ensure patients focus on fighting cancer rather than worrying about how they can afford treatment. Everyone deserves a fighting chance, and we want to help give it to them.  

We are beyond grateful to have such an amazing opportunity to be able to help LLS with its mission and help many families with their battles. Thank you for all your support and we can't wait until kickoff!
